Marathon Music Works
Mid-size concert venue known for hosting touring artists in a spacious, industrial-style setting. A go-to spot for live shows that feel bigger than a club but still up close.
What to Expect
Marathon Music Works occupies an early-1900s auto plant, once home to Marathon Motor Works, the first fully functional car manufacturer in the South. That title stood until General Motors opened its Saturn plant in Spring Hill, Tennessee, in 1990. When it reopened in November 2011, the venue took its name from that history through a community naming contest. The room holds 1,500 standing across 14,000 square feet of exposed brick, steel beams, and polished concrete. Bookings swing wide, with recent and upcoming acts ranging from Poppy and the Sex Pistols' surviving members to Thundercat and Isaiah Rashad. The venue is cashless. Doors run first come, first served, so arriving early gets you closer to the stage, not just a spot in line. Most of the venue is open to all ages depending on the show, but a separate craft cocktail bar, William Collier's, requires 21+ to enter. Three more bars are split between the main floor and an upstairs loft. Daddy's Dogs handles the food. Parking is limited, so ridesharing is the strong recommendation, with a designated pickup spot near the entrance.
