Big Machine Distillery & Tavern
Berry Hill distillery and tavern known for Southern food, handcrafted cocktails, and weekend live music. A casual spot for brunch, drinks, and catching acoustic sets just outside the downtown core.
What to Expect
Big Machine Distillery & Tavern is tucked into Berry Hill, a small city of its own just south of downtown. Its streets are lined with 1940s cottages that house more than 40 recording studios, along with fences painted with murals of music legends like Dolly Parton and Willie Nelson. This is the distillery's Berry Hill outpost, sister to a downtown location that runs tours and tastings. Here, the focus shifts to a full Southern brunch and dinner menu instead. Weekend mornings are the main event: brunch runs seven days a week, but Saturday and Sunday pair it with live music from 9am to 3pm, alongside bottomless Vimosas, a vodka-based mimosa made with their own Big Machine Vodka. Thursdays split the difference, trivia on the first and third week of the month, and a songwriter round called Tavern Session on the second and fourth. The menu leans into Nashville hot chicken in nearly every form: on biscuits, between waffles, piled on salads, even fried and tossed on shrimp. There's a dog-friendly patio out front and a barrel-lined back room for smaller groups or private gatherings. It's been an OpenTable Diner's Choice winner four years running, so reservations are worth making, though walk-ins are welcome too.
