Live Oak
Local bar and restaurant featuring live music from emerging and established Nashville artists. A laid-back spot for catching songwriter rounds and casual country performances throughout the week.
What to Expect
Live Oak sits on Music Row's stretch of Demonbreun and is known for its two distinct identities. On Saturdays and Sundays during football season, it plays as a sports bar first. Doors open at 10am for college football kickoff, with screens covering the walls. Live Oak is an official game-day home for Penn State, Indiana, and the Patriots on Sundays. They also run a custom game-day menu around whichever team is on the big screen. Midweek, the room turns into a working songwriter stage. Grindhouse Nashville runs a weekly in-the-round showcase on Thursdays, pairing established Nashville songwriters with rising new artists. Raisin Grace Rounds, hosted by local podcaster Josh Terry, holds its own round most Wednesdays, with several rotating slots of songwriters trading songs through the evening. Solo acts fill in the rest of the week. High-top tables and a long bar fill the main room, with a second floor available for private events. The kitchen serves classic bar food: burgers, wings, loaded fries, and a Big Ass Pretzel with queso or spicy mustard. Parking on Demonbreun itself is tight most nights, so the nearby garage is the safer bet, especially on weekends.
