The Blue Room at Third Man Records

Concert VenueRock / Indie

Intimate venue at Third Man Records known for live music, cocktails, DJs, film screenings, and special events. A one-of-a-kind Nashville spot where the experience feels tied to the city's record-making culture.

What to Expect

The Blue Room sits inside Third Man Records' Nashville headquarters, the label Jack White founded in 2001 and brought to Nashville in 2009. It's billed as the world's only live venue with direct-to-acetate recording capabilities, meaning performances here can be cut straight onto vinyl on the label's vintage lathe. Songs recorded this way become part of Third Man's Blue Series, 7-inch records named after the room's signature blue hue. Billie Eilish and Finneas once recorded an intimate acoustic set there for the series. For years, the space was only open for special events, film screenings, and poetry readings. That changed in 2021, when Third Man opened it to the public three nights a week, Thursday through Saturday, 7pm to midnight. Beyond ticketed concerts, regular events include WNXP-hosted trivia nights, stand-up comedy hosted by Cortney Warner, and monthly film screenings off a 16mm projector. Most shows are general admission and standing room only. The room itself is a dreamlike, cornerless blue space, with a patio out back and a vintage dip 'n dunk photobooth. The bar serves craft cocktails and beer from Nashville breweries, along with pretzels from Fatbelly, an award-winning local bakery. It's 21 and up.
