What to Expect

The Listening Room operates out of a historic International Harvester building on 4th Ave South, where Johnny Cash once built his infamous tractor. The main room holds 255 seated guests and runs two shows every night, built around songwriter rounds where artists perform their own original material and share the stories behind the songs. The writers behind some of the biggest names in modern country music play this stage regularly, with Morgan Wallen, Luke Combs, and Lainey Wilson all represented. Chris Stapleton, Carly Pearce, and HARDY have all made appearances of their own. The food leans Southern bar with a few standouts worth ordering: the smoked wings are finished with a flash fry and come in a healthy range of sauces, and the Yazoo Taco Chili is made with locally brewed Yazoo beer. Craft cocktails, beer, and wine round out the bar. Most shows carry a cover charge between $5 and $15, plus a $15 per person food and drink minimum at a main room table. The venue claims the best sound system in Nashville and the layout gives every seat a clear view of the stage. If you're not ready to commit to a full show, the front bar runs free live music daily during happy hour from 4 to 5:30pm. Valet parking is $15, paid nightly.
