The Nashville Palace

What to Expect
Nashville Palace opened in 1977 as a place for Opry performers to unwind after their sets, and that DNA still shapes what the room feels like today. It's unpretentious in every way: walls lined with memorabilia, four bars spread throughout, two rooms: one holding the ballroom with the main wooden dance floor, and the other with the live music stage that stays busy with traditional country music. Line dancing is as much a part of the experience as the music, with free lessons Tuesday through Sunday nights starting around 7pm. After you've worked up an appetite dancing, grab some Southern comfort food like the artist favorite Smoked Bologna Sandwich, a BBQ plate, or the fried catfish sandwich along with another round. Parking is free and easy, which is rare for a Nashville music venue. Randy Travis was discovered here while working as a cook and dishwasher. George Jones was a regular. The Palace sits directly across from the Grand Ole Opry, so pairing the two makes for the perfect night out.
