Music City Bar & Grill
Music Valley country bar known for live music, late nights, and a mix of locals and visitors near Opryland. A casual spot for real country music without the Broadway crowds.
What to Expect
Music City Bar & Grill opened in 2006, started by Blake Kovrig, a former Opryland Hotel bartender who wanted to build a bar around a stage rather than a stage crammed into a bar. He picked the spot across from the Grand Ole Opry to draw both the local country crowd and the tourists already flowing through Music Valley, well away from the Broadway strip downtown. Vinyl records and music memorabilia cover nearly every wall inside, and a dance floor stays busy with two-steppers. Little Jimmy Dickens, Daryle Singletary, Eddie Montgomery, Leona Williams, and Georgette Jones have all spent time here over the years. Live music runs every day of the week, usually in three shifts: afternoon, evening, and a late set that runs past midnight. The Music City Playboys anchor the evening slot most Wednesdays and Thursdays. The bar calls itself the best little honky tonk in America, and the kitchen stays open until 2:30am to match the late crowd. The bar runs 16 rotating taps and a full well while the kitchen runs southern bar food and pizzas. It's 21 and up, has free parking, and doesn't charge a cover most nights of the week.
