What to Expect

Tin Roof opened on Demonbreun Hill in 2002 as a place for musicians to play and hang out when they weren't on stage. The building holds three rooms: a main room with a live band, plus the Green Room and Two Bits next door, where DJs spin under a disco ball on weekends. The space runs 7,500 square feet, holds more than 550 people across four bars, and charges no cover on weekend nights. Most Wednesdays feature Wednesday Sessions, a single rotating artist starting at 7pm. The last Wednesday of every month instead belongs to YNOT Wednesdays, one of Nashville's best-known songwriter showcases, with nine songwriters split into three rounds of three. Thursdays bring Cup Night, with 2-for-1 domestic beers and seltzers or a $5 reusable cup for $3 refills all night, backed by a live band and a late DJ set. Happy hour runs all day Monday and 2 to 7pm Tuesday through Friday, with $3 drafts and $4 well drinks. The kitchen serves hand-breaded chicken tenders, wings, and double patty smash burgers, its self-declared Better Than Bar Food. TVs are mounted throughout for game days, and free shows from rising country acts run under the Nashville Hits the Roof series.
