Love & Exile
East Nashville winery, cocktail bar, and patio spot known for drinks, local eats, and live events. A casual neighborhood hang where wine, cocktails, and a social East Side atmosphere are as much the draw as the music.
What to Expect
Love & Exile started as Nashville Urban Winery, a working winery founder Tyler Alkins built inside an abandoned car garage less than a mile from downtown. A tornado tore through in March 2020 and destroyed the bar and shop side of the building. After almost two years of rebuilding, it reopened in September 2021 as Love & Exile, named after the wine itself. The patio is the main draw most of the year: string lights, fire pits, dog-friendly tables, and a stage for live music. Inside, the room centers on the long main bar, with neon signs, colorful murals, and playful pink tones. Wine leads the menu, crafted with the help of winemakers Alkins recruited from Italy and California. The cabernet sauvignon and sorriso prosecco are local favorites. A full cocktail and beer list rounds things out. The food stays simple. Skillet beer cheese with pretzel bites and the plate of nachos are the dishes people keep coming back for. Live music runs Thursday and Friday nights, usually starting around 7pm with local singer-songwriters and bands. Doors open at 4pm most days, noon on weekends, and late nights run until 1am on Fridays and Saturdays. Monday brings all-day happy hour.
