The East Room
East Nashville music and comedy venue known for up-and-coming local and touring talent. A casual spot for catching live shows, comedy nights, and a more independent side of the Nashville scene.
What to Expect
The East Room has been running in East Nashville since June 2012. Inside, it's a small, dimly lit room built around a stage and a compact bar stocked with a wide beer selection. A balcony upstairs offers both communal and private seating, and there's an outdoor patio for stepping out between sets. Live music books almost every night. Tuesday is the exception, reserved for free open mic comedy with sign-ups from 7 to 7:30pm and the show starting at 8pm. The second Saturday of every month brings Fascination Street, a goth and dark-wave dance night that's built its own loyal following. Bookings otherwise range from touring rock and indie acts to odder one-offs. The best example is Squawk Rock, an annual charity concert now in its fourth year, where ten local bands play bird-themed rock covers to benefit the Exotic Avian Sanctuary of Tennessee. Capacity runs around 250. Age restrictions vary by event, usually 18 and up, so check the listing before you go.
