The Underdog
East Nashville neighborhood bar known for affordable drinks, a laid-back atmosphere, and live music throughout the week. A low-key spot for catching local artists in an intimate room on Gallatin Pike.
What to Expect
The Underdog books live music almost every night of the week, often two acts back to back. It's a small dive bar in Inglewood, marked by a red-and-white marquee sign that lights up Gallatin Pike after dark. Inside, mismatched lighting, a disco ball, and a photo booth surround the pool table and stage. The room seats about 40 people. Out front, there's a bigger open space with picnic tables for anyone who wants to spill outside between sets. The booking spans nearly every genre, from country and punk to indie and singer-songwriter. Past acts have included Adam Wakefield and the Americana band Cordovas. The Underdog partnered with the streaming platform Volume to broadcast its shows online, so people who can't make it in person can still catch a set live. It's 21 and up, open seven days a week from 6pm to close. There's free parking on site.
